The NASM OPT Model – Interview with Maurice Williams, NASM Master Trainer

One of the great things about being a tool developer is connecting with folks who have a variety of perspectives on practice. This was an informative and enjoyable exchange of ideas with NASM Master trainer Maurice Wiliams.

The NASM model provides a road map for progressing training for any needs. It’s based on classic weight training practice but the principles can be applied to any form of resistance training. Systematic progression and cyclic variation through the year in macro, mezzo and micro cycles.

Bottom line the art of training is about applying principles to needs. The NASM OPT overview of cycled phases is a solid template to apply the principles of adaptation to developing strength safely.
